Gifts from Daddy!

Since Jared has been busy studying for the past few months (the last month being the worst), we haven't seen a whole lot of him. The day before his big test he left a day early to spend the night in a hotel (since the test was in Louisville), so he wouldn't have to get up so early the day of the test. He came home Thursday to pack his bags and see the kids for a few minutes before he left. When he drove off Blair stood at the window and fussed (for what seemed like forever) about her Daddy leaving her behind. Then she looked at me and said, "Dad said to look in the car." I thought that was a random thing for her to say, so I figured he probably did tell her that. Blair and I went to the garage and opened up the back doors where the kids car seats are. Much to our surprise there was a bag of 100 balls in Logan's seat and a huge box in Blair's seat. Inside the box was a big blow-up toy that you can jump in (don't know what it's called). Blair was so excited she was screaming. Of course she immediately wanted to try it out....so since Jared was gone, we got in the car and headed to my parents house to try it out!!!! These pictures can tell the rest of the story!

Of course Blair thought it was the coolest gift EVER and all Logan wanted to do was go in and out of the little hole.

Of course I have the sweetest husband ever....I didn't even think about opening my door of the car, but thought how nice it was of him to think of the kids. When we got in the car to leave for my parents house to try out the new toy, in MY seat was a gift certificate to one of our nicest Spa's in town. The one hour Swedish massgae is calling my name. Thanks, Daddy!

HotRods!!!!!

Believe it or not, Bowling Green now has a Professional Baseball team. Blair, Logan and I went to our first game last night with my parents and brother. I actually felt like I was out-of-town somewhere rather than being at home. The stadium was very nice and is not quite complete, so I'm excited to see it completely finished. Dad had six tickets at club level right behind home plate. They were AWESOME seats. The weather was perfect and ended up being a beautiful night!

Anyone who has ever been around my sweet Blair knows that she doesn't stop talking. Well, I'm here to say that if you give her some peanuts she'll never say a word. The girl loves to crack open a peanut and eat it. Funny part is that if she can't get it open she throws the whole thing down on the ground. I think part of the fun is making such a mess. Well, Dad bought her a whole bag of peanuts and needless to say she ate the whole bag. Here she is working on her peanuts:

Logan thought he was big stuff at the ballgame. He had on his baseball shirt and clapped anytime there was opportunity. He loved to sit on Dad's lap with his pacifier hanging out the side of his mouth. (Poor fella is working on so many teeth)

And of course Blair has a GREAT time anytime she's with her Uncle Kyle. This week she's been calling him "her boyfriend."
Jared has tickets through work for every Saturday game. Look out HotRods, the Nix family will be invading your stadium, but cheering loudly.

"I can dress myself" and Weekend FUN!

The other morning when I was getting ready, Blair came in my bathroom and said "Look Mom, I can dress myself" I turned around to find this:

The sweet girl HAD dressed herself, but nothing matched. She had on two shirts with a sweater over it and some capri pants. She was thrilled with herself. The other funny thing was, she had sprayed detangler in her hair and combed it. She must have used half the bottle because her hair was pretty wet. I just had to take some pictures....my little girl is growing up!!!!

This weekend we've had some friends staying with us from Arkansas. Hailey and I have been childhood friends. Our Mom's were roommates at Florida College and our families have been close ever since. Hailey, her husband Matt and sweet boy Tyler came to stay with us and to celebrate Hailey's sister's 30th birthday. All of the kids really enjoyed playing together. We were excited for Logan and Tyler to be together. Tyler is just a month older than Logan.
Logan and Tyler ended up having the same outfits to wear on Sunday to church. Hailey and I both LOVE Gymboree, but actually did not plan this at all. The boys looked so cute!
Now time to start another week. Jared takes his PE exam on Friday. Please keep your fingers crossed.

Easter!!!!

Well we had a fun Easter!
Jared and I hid a few eggs for the kids to find when they got up Sunday morning. I gave Blair pink and purple eggs and Logan blue and green eggs. Blair was so funny as she was putting eggs in her basket. She would walk up to the egg look at it and say "Yes, that's mine" or "Nope, not for me." I got so tickled at her. Logan didn't really get the whole "finding the egg and dropping it in your basket." He found one blue egg and that was enough for him....until he realized there were jelly beans inside. Then he would find an egg, open it and stuff the contents inside his mouth. Let's just say Logan has a new love for Starburst Jelly Beans....good thing they only come around once a year.
After church we went to my parents house for lunch and the kids had another egg hunt. My brother was there with his awesome camera and took a few pictures of the kids.
It was a fun day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Home Alabama!!!

The kids and I spent last week in Alabama. We left in hopes to give Daddy some "study time." He takes his PE exam the 24th. Cross your fingers!

We had a fun-filled week:

Blair dyed eggs with Noni. That's when we discovered Blair's love for eggs. Noni taught her how to make "doubled eggs" (aka deviled eggs), which are Papa's favorite. Little did we know they would became Blair's too. She also LOVES a hard-boiled egg. Then on top of that she started dipping the hard-boiled egg into a dressing...yuck, huh?!?!?! I think Blair enjoyed eating the egg more than dying and decorating it. Needless to say, it was all FUN!

There is no way to express how much my kids LOVE the outdoors. What I didn't know is how much fun they have when it's raining! Papa took the kids outside one night and it started raining. The next thing I know Papa is telling us to get the camera. Here's what we found.

You never know what Blair will want to do (or get into) next. This trip she decided to take an intrest in Noni's make-up. Noni put together a little make-up bag for Blair that she loves to play with each time she goes to visit....but this time she wanted a little more. She does have sensitive skin so Noni let her put baby powder on her face, but to Blair it was "make-up."

The kids love going to Noni and Papa's house. One of the biggest reasons is to see Buddy, the dog. Buddy is very loved by the kids, but I know he's got to be releaved when their gone. Logan loves to pull Buddy's tail and give him kisses.
Papa built the kids a tent one night before bedtime. Blair loves tents, especially when she can get inside with LOTS of books and her baby dolls. Logan loves going in and out, in and out, in and out. The funny thing is, he doesn't realize to duck his head to get under so he's constantly knocking it down.I think this is the longest post ever, so I'm stopping here. You get the idea of what a FUN trip we had. But........
I have to say HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY, to the best Noni in the world. My kids are so lucky and blessed to have her as their grandmother. Not to mention how lucky I am to have the best mother-in law ever! We love you, Noni!
