Busy, Busy, Busy! (Alabama and Florida)

The minute it starts to warm up outside it seems like the Nix family goes into "busy mode." Too much to post (too busy to post) so we'll go with the most FUN so far this summer!
The kids and I left Jared for the longest time EVER about a week ago. We piled into a car with Becca and Abbey and headed to Alabama to spend time with Aaron, Courtney and sweet Caroline. We left on a Monday and spent about 8 hours in the car. The kids were PERFECT...well, let's just say Abbey was perfect....my two did good!!! Becca had every toy imagined packed into one basket and it kept the kids very well entertained. They watched lots of movies and ate lots of junk. =) We had the best time catching up, going to the park, shopping, going to the beach for the day, lots of yummy eating and just being together. Here's a few pictures from our time in Alabama.
Then Friday morning Becca, the kids and I left Alabama and headed to Florida for the rest of the week to crash at my parents place where they had been staying for the week! It was a two bedroom, two bath place so for five adults and three kids it was a little tight, but that's what you do to be on the beach. It was a nice place. You opened the door and there was the pool (literally) and a few more steps the ocean (even better). We spent two days playing the in sand, giving Blair "swimming lessons", eating sea food and soaking up the sunshine. The kids had a BLAST!
These pictures cannot possibly tell you how much FUN we had!! By the time we headed home I was tired and ready to see Jared...but then in two days I was calling Becca to see if she wanted to go somewhere else. haha!
June is a fun-filled very busy month. Will post again soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two silly monkeys and Tumble Town!

Whenever the camera comes out my kids become silly. I thought they looked so cute in their matching outfits and just had to have a picture. It is the hardest thing to get both kids to smile and look at the camera at the same time. It's gotten to the point that before I take the picture I ask them if they are going to act like monkeys or angels. You can see which they ALWAYS choose.

For about the last four months, Blair has been taking gymnastics. We go every Wednesday for an hour. Blair's favorite part is getting to wear her leotard. She has two leotards...pink and black. The first few times she didn't have a leotard because we couldn't find a "pink one like Sarah's." When we finally did Blair thought she was "big like Sarah." Blair is actually pretty athletic (unlike her mother) and does fairly well. This fall they are starting something new where the kids can earn belts based upon their performance. That should be fun!!!!! Here are some pictures of my little gymnast.
