Not too long ago (probably around the time she turned four) we set "rules" for Blair during church. We no longer allow her (for lack of a better word) to "play" the entire time. She is to participate in the worship service, but then once the preaching starts she has to sit quitely and color. I have been amazed and what she has already learned and picked up on. She is singing, praying and making comments about things during the service. Her Daddy and I have been so proud of her.
Not only has she learned how to "particiapte," but she's learning even more, how to pray. It's no longer; thank you for mommy and daddy, amen! Although the Lord still hears those prayers she's old enough now to pray for more. She NEVER forgets her family, especially Logan. She says that praying for Logan will make him be a better brother...hahahaha! She is always very thankful for whatever has gone on throughout the day, but she's also very sorrowful for maybe something she's done as well. I have a hard time either fighting off the tears or from getting tickled. She is growing up so much and I couldn't love the girl more.
Here is her prayer the other night as I was putting her to bed:
Dear God,
Please help me show love to lots of people. Even the ones who really aggreviate me. And please push me up to heaven. But be gentle. Amen.
